Job description: reporter, Mawsonia publications
Salary: £26,000 per year.
Mawsonia Ltd, a UK-based media company, currently runs three trade papers and a number of supplements and special reports. The reporter is expected to write primarily news for all three, Global University Venturing (GUV), Global Government Venturing (GGV) and Global Corporate Venturing (GCV). The news editor of GCV, will allocate stories for about half the time with the other half working with the editor on GUV and GGV. The position will also require longer analysis and features writing and the ability to cover for colleagues on editing and news sourcing, as well as support in the general editorial operation through uploading and social media.
The role requires excellent writing speed and clarity of content and good coordination between GCV and GUV and GGV and staff and outside sources.
Skills and Experience
Strong candidates will have:
• Worked in a similar writing role, preferably business-to-business but also B2C, which might include news and/or features.
• At least bilingual
• Editing experience important
• Strong writing skills.
• A good understanding of how to work with multiple editors across multiple titles in a lager publishing company.
Mawsonia is a young entrepreneurial company with mostly remote-working staff so the successful candidate will be comfortable with that environment.
