The role is working on a digital-first brand with a weekly print magazine for senior management within its given sector. It has a powerful brand heritage and strong relationships with senior and influential figures!
The news editor’s role will be to lead a team of reporters and analysts to research and write award-winning and sector-leading news and analysis.
You will manage reporters and lead the development of our news content online and in the magazine. This will include researching and writing outstanding news and analysis; editing copy; line managing reporters; and coming up with cover and page layout concepts.
You will be expected to break agenda setting news stories in your assigned beat
The reporters work in one of the UK’s most exciting industries, breaking stories and providing analysis.
You will interview chief executives to government ministers
You will need to demonstrate leadership qualities, outstanding contact-building skills and an insatiable appetite to help continue grow the market’s leading title.
The ideal candidate …
The ideal candidate will have at least 2-3 years of experience of producing exclusive, outstanding news content and will want to join a title where content is at the heart of its growth.
You will lead content online and come full of ideas about how to engage readers online and produce content that is primarily aimed at digital engagement.
Reporting to the editor, you will be a line manager for several reporters in this role. You will be able to demonstrate excellent managerial skills and provide evidence of managing and mentoring junior colleagues in past roles.
You will insist on being first with the biggest stories in the industry. You will be diligent, organised and want to enhance the reader’s experience of content through a strong news-writing style appropriate for a professional audience.
