Maternity cover role, but definitely not a caretaker position, as this e-commerce specialist has very ambitious growth plans for 2018.

The role

Our client is an e-commerce organisation, specialising in the building materials industry, with 95% of their business currently targeted at the consumer market, although there will also be a push within the b2b sector. Following their acquisition in late 2017 by a very large commercial group, there is a real priority to focus on their digital marketing, whilst managing a small team. So whilst this is a maternity cover position, you will have responsibility for making change and having a real input into the growth and development of the company rather than simply managing a strategy which has already been put in place. Heading up the Digital marketing team and reporting into the Directors, you will liaise with external agencies, creating reports and protecting the brand identity as well as having responsibility across PPC, SEO, Email Marketing, Social Ads and Campaigns. Initial projects will involve the re-design of the e-commerce website, but you will oversee a varied array of campaign planning and implementation, budget planning and ROI, lead generation to target KPI’s and other duties.

What we’re looking for

We’re really looking for someone who has a solid background in digital marketing, ideally from an e-commerce background with previous man-management experience. PPC and SEO experience is essential, but you’ll also understand the wider marketing mix and be capable of offering insight into the various technologies available to improve digital processes to lead to sales conversions. This is an environment where new ideas and forward-thinking are really valued, so if you’re keen to really have an input into a growing business, this could well be your opportunity. It would be really useful if you also had additional skills within MailChimp, Photoshop and Indesign as well as internet marketing tools such as TextMarketer, Hootsuite and Sniply.

What’s on offer?

Salary for the role will depend on experience but will be between £28,000 and £35,000 and we’re looking for someone who can start in February. As mentioned, the role is initially a 12 month contract, however, there is a possibility of a permanent role being offered either with the organisation or within the group for the right individual.
