ACCOUNT DIRECTOR | mat cover, b2b, media, marketing

Starting April / May time, this is a great opportunity to take up a maternity cover Account Director position with a very buoyant and expanding b2b agency in the heart of the West End. With offices around the UK and globally, this could be a temp to perm role but is definitely a 12 month FTC initially. You would head up a close knit team of really talented PRs in this B2B agency that puts fun (regular ‘themed’ office parties) and work life balance at the top of the agenda and genuinely celebrates the success and hard work of all their staff. Apart from the fun stuff they also have a great client portfolio with some of the biggest names in the business services, media / marketing, SMEs and technology sectors.
The Role
Be part of the senior management team from the get-go, take full responsibility of all client facing, lead this small team of 3/4 energetic, creative PRs, with direct report to the Managing Director. Many of the clients you would be working with are cutting edge small businesses in the media / digital / marketing / business services sectors.
Key duties will include
• Leading the team and supporting their development
• Building your knowledge of the media industry and your client sectors
• Being the senior client contact
• New business responsibilities
• Being aware of key issues pertinent to your accounts
• Developing solid business/stakeholder relationships
Candidate specifications.
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
• A background in b2b particularly if your clients have included media agencies, new businesses, tech or utilities and SMEs
• A great sense of humour and desire to work with like-minded PRs
• Tenacious and ambitious as well as a keenness to develop other team members
• Strong strategic skills as well as good creative ability
• Be looking for a fairly immediate start (April / May) and ready to step straight into working at AD level
• Have some experience of crisis management issues
• A knowledge of the relevant trade press (media /marketing / tech / business services sector)
• Client lead track record – you should be a true client partner
• Manage client budgets and able to meet or beat the KPIs
• Excellent communication, writing and presentation skills
• Team management experience and ability to motivate and mentor your team
• knowledge of social media/digital campaigns
