The Grocer is looking for a talented, enthusiastic, bright and ambitious reporter to help us break major stories about the fascinating, colourful and fast-changing food & drink sector.
This role is focused on the retail side of the £200bn grocery trade, where the challenges of the high street on the one hand, are offset by the rise and rise of online shopping, on the other. Amid huge technological, structural and consumer upheaval, you’ll be expected to engage in and uncover stories around how a host of grocery retailers (big and small) are adapting (or not adapting), examining uncovering crucial information on strategy and performance, hirings and firings, pricing and promo strategy, merchandising, service, availability and the supply chain, ecommerce, store design, property and planning, marketing

This role will encompass a range of different responsibilities, but it starts with great journalism, landing exclusive news stories, writing in depth analysis, features, reports, profiles, blogs and video/audio content, across a range of topics.
